Pinoys are getting Health Conscious.

I noticed that Pinoys are getting health conscious. They would prefer sugar free and lite. They would check on the nutrition labels before buying a product too. I am one of those people who would prefer chicken or fish over pork or beef. I also noticed that most of the fast food chains offer healthier choice of food such as salads and lean meats for their burgers.

There is another way to be healthy and it is through High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) instead of sugar. It is a natural sweetener and an excellent substitute for sugar in many foodstuffs ranging from beverages to baking. It has become hugely popular in countries such as the United States of America and Japan, where relatively high sugar prices provided an opening in the market for the lower priced HFCS in the late 1970’s. It was originally developed in the late 1950’s, but it was almost a decade before it became a commercially viable product, thanks to the efforts of Japanese scientists who created processes for producing HFCS on an industrial scale.

I think we should look into this. I know there are already available artificial sweeteners out there but HFCS seem to be better since the ingredients are natural and healthy.

But I guess another way to be healthy too is by doing exercises everyday maintaining our diet and having good cholesterol at all times. (*wink*)

The Beautiful View of Tagaytay Highlands

We were invited to a dinner/dance party of my College blockmate last Saturday and it was held at the Country Club Veranda of Tagaytay Highlands. It was my first time there so I was amazed at how nice the place and the view was.

The invitation says the (early) dinner will start at 4:30pm but when we got there, there weren’t much guests yet. So Hubby and I took the opportunity to take some photos.

The weather was great, a bit windy, but not too cold to wear a jacket.

The pool was very inviting. Even if the weather was a bit chilly there were still some kids in the pool that afternoon. We missed our little girl and wished that she was with us or she was enjoying the pool. But thinking about it more, she would have felt really cold.

The dinner started at around 7PM when people started to arrive. The menu of the dinner includes:
- Appetizers: Sugbakilaw and Thai Spring Rolls
- Soup: Sinigang na Hipon
- Salad
- Main Course: Garlic Rice, Pasta Puttanesca, Chicken with Mushroom, Roast Pork, and Grilled Fish
- Dessert: Assorted French Pastries
- Brewed Coffee

The food was just ok, nothing spectacular. Although the Thai Spring Rolls were tasty. And the desserts were yummy too! I can’t help it so I took one each of the French pastries. And with that it definitely completed my meal!

More photos of the place…

On Documents and Court Records

I have been dealing with our documents ever since Hubby and I got married. I would take care of the birth certificates, marriage certificate, land title, and medical records. It is important to keep these documents in one place so we would know where to find it when we would need it.

Recently, I came across this site that stores online documents from their website. One type of document include the Oklahoma Court Records. What they do is they get the person’s details and information about the document then store it in their database. These records include, court records, criminal records, criminal history, police records, arrest records, arrests and more.

But this particular website is focused mainly on the Oklahama records in the US. All their information is compiled on a regular basis, so they have the most up to date court, county and public records focusing on the Oklahoma area.

Circles – A Heavenly Buffet

I am re-posting this from my other blog about my Mother-in-law’s birthday celebrated at Circles Shangrila. It was a very, very sumptuous lunch. You might want to try it out one of these days. It is definintely highly recommended. :)

It’s my mother-in-law’s birthday today! And I’m sure she will have a loooot of blessings in her life because it has been raining for the whole day!

We celebrated her birthday last Sunday at Circles, Shang. And boy, the buffet was great! Although Hubby had only appetizers then after that had stomachache. Sayang, he wasn’t able to enjoy the food unlike me who had 5 plates! LOL!

I didn’t eat breakfast that day (bad example!) just to maximize the lunch that we’ll be having. (*grin*)

After having buffet at several hotels now (Circles, Heat, Spiral), for me, Circles is still the best out there. Spiral got more options to choose from, but Circles, my, I think I wanted to try almost all the food there!

Ok, here goes the food that I ate there (actually, what I wanted to do was I would at least try everything there even if I ate it in small amount…) :

1st plate: Salad and appetizers. I love the cheese with strawberry appetizer. It was so yummy, I had to get 1 more.

2nd plate: California Maki, Steamed Shrimp and Lobster, and other sushi stuff

3rd plate: My Main Course, Shrimp and Fish, RoastBeef, Steak, Potato/Zuchini/Mushrooms, Sausage, and Asparagus. This plate is heavenly!

The Main Course

4th plate: At this time, my MIL was so happy with me that she said, “at least di ako lugi sayo“. LOL! I had Chicken Shawarma, Vietnamese Rice, Shrimp, Beef with lemongrass, etc…

5th plate: The last but not the least, the dessert and turkish coffee. The coffee was so bitter for me but it went so well with the chocolate cake, tiramisu, and creme bulee.

Oh man, I had a grand time eating! I felt like I haven’t eaten in ages. LOL! Anyway, here are more of our pictures after our lunch. Thanks for looking! :)

Who's your Caller?

Have you ever thought of this question – “Who Just Called Me?“? I know most Pinoys already have cellphones and even most people rely on it for personal, business, or what have yous. So we can’t avoid the fact that anyone can just call you anytime, anywhere. There will be prank calls, not-so-nice callers, and more so you want to know who your caller is.

Why don’t you try WhoJustCalledHere.com, a website that provides a Free Phone Number Lookup for any number whether its listed or not. You now have the resource to track any phone call you receive, get information about the owner of that number, and determine whether it was a call you needed to take, or if it was just another telemarketer trying to waste your time. All you have to do is type the number that called in the search box in the home page of the website, and find out exactly who is calling you.

50 Cent Live in Manila

Grabbed from ClickTheCity.com.

Multiple Grammy nominations, endorsements, biggest-selling and certified double platinum albums, and millions of fans worldwide – all gained by Curtis Jackson, also known as 50 Cent.

And now, he is set to give a blast of rap on a night of concert in Manila this coming October.

Back in the U.S., 50 has scored three singles claiming the No.1 spot across the charts– R&B / Hip-hop, Rap, and Pop: “In Da Club”, “Candy Shop” and “21 Questions” (featuring Nate Dogg). Three more went Top 3 across the board: “P.I.M.P.,” “Just A Lil Bit” and “Disco Inferno.” Yet another four were Rap Top 10s: “Wanksta”, “Outta Control (Remix)”, “Window Shopper” and “Best Friend”. Four of the above have been certified digital gold: “In Da Club”, “Candy Shop”, “P.I.M.P.” and “Disco Inferno”.

From music to movies, videogames to books, a clothing line to footwear, 50 has taken street culture by storm. But as Curtis proves, and as he says in “Straight to the Bank,” 50 Cent wants even more.
