Salcedo Saturday Market

Have you been to the famous Salcedo Saturday Market in Makati?

I first discovered this when I was taking my Masters Degree in Makati. I was amazed because I couldn’t believe that there was actually a market in a middle of Makati. But this market is different. First of all, it is clean and not wet (which is why I hate wet markets so much). They offer healthier food like gourmet fruits and vegetables and offer several choices of green leaves such as pako, talbos at bulaklak ng kalabasa, mustasa, bakchoy, taiwanese pechay, and more. Breakfasts are also available here and most of the Makati residents would eat here. If you want to eat barbecue, lechon, and shawarma for breakfast, this is the place to be! :)

Desserts are also available like like leche flan, maja blanca, nuts, suman and many other delicacies.

The market opens at around 7AM and then closes at around 2PM. So be sure to be there early.

Shopping for Home Insurance

I know people who own a home would consider getting a home insurance. It can be locally or something like Austin Home Insurance. This provides coverage for your personal possessions. So they don’t only cover the homes but also stuff that we value so much. The Home Insurance in Austin provides 50 and 70 percent of the amount you have on the structure of your home. And to determine how much you got for your possessions, Austine Home Insurance suggests that you create an inventory of all the things you own.

For us, we haven’t got one but thinking of getting one in the near future. I know that it’s hard to lose everything you have worked for especially your home so for me, getting a home insurance would be truly worth it.

What Kind of Shopper Are You?

Hmmm… I loved this test. It shows the “real” me. LOL! I admit, I’m a a shopaholic, I love to shop but I think of my budget first and if I really need the stuff that I will buy. And if it’s on sale, and I’ve been eyeing this item for quite sometime already, I won’t hesitate in buying it.

You Are a Discount Shopper

You love to get things as cheaply as possible. You live for sales.
It’s partially because you like to save money, but it’s also because you like the thrill of finding a fabulous deal.

Of all the types, you tend to shop frequently but rarely by. You keep an eye on prices.
Brand names are not that important to you. You know how to have style without collecting designer tags.

Try the test too! ;)

Bazaars this Weekend

Aaaah, how I wish I have the energy to shop this weekend. I needed to look for some auto parts for the car, to shop for myself since I discovered yesterday that I don’t have anything to wear! I got so big from my pregnancy that I need to shop for a new set of clothes. I think I would be able to get a lot of good stuff from this bazaar…

But not having enough sleep won’t make myself enjoy so I guess will just leave it for now and rest and wait for my body to fully recover. Maybe I can consider the following for the next few weeks…

American Women’s Bazaar – World Trade Center, Metro Manila, December 2

The 7th World Bazaar Festival – World Trade Center, Metro Manila, December 5 -16

Karl Edwards International Bazaar – NBC Tent, Taguig, December 6-7; 13-23; 27-28

Rockwell Urban Bazaar – Powerplant Mall, Rockwell, Makati City, December 12 – 14

Manny Pacquiao vs Oscar De la Hoya

This is the moment that Hubby has been waiting for! Did you know that ever since Hubby heard about this fight he has been monitoring this for almost everyday! So now it’s almost a week to go and finally the fight will push through. I’m sure the fans of Manny Pacquiao will stop whatever they are doing on December 7, 2008 (Manila Time) and watch this fight.

Now, do Manny’s bunch of fans needs some truck rental just for them to go together to watch the fight?

I wonder who will win. Hubby and I are making a bet for this.

I Need to Shop!

Now that I have given birth, I realized that I need more stuff for the baby. I was thinking of just using the old clothes and stuff of our little girl but their size is completely different. Our newborn baby’s feet is way too slim and long than our little girl when she was a baby.
I also need to shop for bath essentials and I’m eyeing the Tiddliwinks Safari 3-pc. Towel Set from Target for $14.99.

Good thing that there is the Cyber Monday Sales where I can get good deals and coupons. I would also like to get some stuff from Babies R Us like the Gerber 2 Pack Gowns – Neutral for the baby girl.

Since Christmas is just a few weeks from now, I’m thinking of shopping for the little girl too. Toys R Us will be my option since they also have affordable toys and clearance sales from up to 60% off. Just like the Barbie as The Island Princess Magical Castle Vanity which will be my number one choice for the little girl. I’ve been wanting to give her this for so long already and this Christmas would be the best time since she appreciates toys already. I can’t wait for her to see it!

Giving Birth at St. Luke's Medical Center

I can say was a breeze. A week ago we were at St. Luke’s Medical center and we were very happy with their service. We checked in at around 5:30 AM and then after a few minutes of waiting, we went straight to the room were I will be giving birth. Nurses were attentive and so are the residents. We were treated very well.

The rooms were also clean. They have a new area now and we stayed there. Private rooms were a bit small though but it was ok since it was just Hubby and I.

The nurses at the nurse station were also attentive and helpful.

They also have wireless internet. Although Hubby was hoping that they have a flat screen TV and tv lifts but maybe in a few years. :D

I would highly recommend this hospital!

Update on our Landscaping

It has been a while since I posted about our home. Because the truth is, we haven’t really changed anything ever since we installed the huge mirror in the living room. Our next project was supposed to be landscaping like the one from Dallas Landscaping but we haven’t really got the time. Especially now that Hubby and I are so busy with the demands of a toddler and a newborn baby.

For now, I guess all I can do is do some research and gather all the details. The Complete Outdoor Concepts has been so helpful with giving information about landscaping. They also did a lot of great jobs on landscaping and very impressive too. They even posted some photos so you can really imagine what your backyard would look like after hiring them.

Updating your patio or backyard, this site is a great resource and give you highly trained and experienced staff int he construction and design of woodwork and masonry. And this made Complete Outdoor Concepts stand out among the rest. They take pride of what they do. And they offer a great quality and service.

It takes a lot of creativity when it comes to landscaping so it would be best to seek the professionals.

Doing Aerobatics with Jaunt Air.

I don’t really know anything about how to learn to fly but I have read a few things about learning to fly with Jaunt Air. They have three flight specialties namely, Aerobatics, Agricultural Aviation, and Air Taxis & Charters.

Aerobatic flying as I’ve read is about the exhibitions of power and grace demonstrated by airshow performers. I’ve imagined this something like those in the circus where they perform acrobatics in the air. But of course this one is very different and a bit risky too. With Aerobatics, Jaunt Air will teach the fighter pilot to improve her overalflying skill and her ability to respond to emergencies. And these would we the key to survival.

It definitely offers challenges to be found nowhere else in aviation. Flying itself is a challenge and adding up skills while flying is more than enough to prove how challenging it would be. And Jaunt Air promises that it can be a whole lot of fun, for both the pilot and spectator alike!

As for me, I guess will have to settle as a spectator for now and see if maybe one of these days I could at least try it. After all, nothing is impossible in this world, right?

Dreaming of Luxury Hotels

As I went home from the hospital after giving birth I was wishing I would go home to a luxury hotel. After staying in the hospital for two nights, I somehow realized that I badly need a break. After eating hospital food for two days, I imagined myself being in one of those Cancun hotels and having the time of my life. Who wouldn’t prefer this over the hospital, right?

Aaaah, going to the beach in Cancun is one of my dreams that I would want to fulfill. I love to go the beach and this would be quite an experience. It’s a good thing that Cancun hotels offer different prices from budget, moderate, luxury, and ultra luxury hotels. They considered the budget travelers like me. Because I usually think that when I travel, I would want to allot a considerable amount for shopping, some stuff to bring for family and friends, and of course food. That sometimes hotels are not really my priority. But being in the hospital made me think that splurging in a luxury hotel like the ones in Cancun would be worth it too. After all, it is a vacation that you usually do at least once a year right?
