The Beautiful Island of Boracay

I promised to post some photos of our Boracay trip. Actually our trip was four years ago so I’m sure that a lot has changed since then. But the beach and the white sand is exactly the same.

I would like my kids to check this place out. It is known all over the world and it is a place where they will definitely enjoy. Hubby and I on the other hand will enjoy the night life of fun and partying.

SO, which one is better, Bohol or Boracay?

It's Ash Wednesday Today.

If you are a Filipino and a Catholic, I’m sure you know what Ash Wednesday means. It indicates the start of the Lenten Season. Today would be a holiday of obligation and every Catholic is expected to hear mass.

The Lenten season usually lasts for forty-six days (forty days not counting Sundays) before Easter.

In this season, people choose to fast and abstain. As for me, I will try to abstain from chocolates and sweets every Friday. I started today. I just hope and pray that I get to do it every Friday for the whole Lenten season.

How about you?

Have you decided on what to abstain this Lenten season?

Our Next Getaway – Bohol or Bora?

I can’t help but think about our next getaway in the next few months. It’s not that I don’t feel excited about the upcoming getaway (which will be soon) but the thing is, I just want to plan early.

So now, we have two choices – Boholor Boracay.

I have been to both places but Hubby haven’t been to Bohol. I guess the kids will enjoy both because of the beach. So now we are definitely confused!

I won’t make any decisions yet but for the mean time will just explore my old photos and see if I can decide from there. And besides, I have an assignment about area rugs that needs to be done this week.

These are so far the photos of our Bohol trip a couple of years ago…

I will post some Boracay photos soon.

Definitely not on a Diet!

Well you have probably noticed my posts. Everything was just about FOOD!

So, nope not on a diet nor taking those diet pills as of now. You see, I have the right since I’m still breastfeeding! Ha!

But the thing is, I wasn’t really like this on my first and second month. Lately I’ve been craving a lot such as chicharon, chips, royce chocolates, pizza, and more junk stuff. I don’t like it but I really can’t help it.

Ever since I declared or vowed that I’d be healthy this year, I started to have this cravings. Naaah, definitely not pregnant again. Probably just those hormonal changes. I just hope it will go away soon.

But for the mean time, just bear with me since I will definitely post some more of our food trip in the next few days. (*grin*)

I'd Like to Get Cozy on This…

On a patio furniture that is, you see, the weather is getting hotter everyday so I might as well make the most out of it and stay outdoors. It’s not that I would stay until noon but it would be great to unwind here early in the morning.

How I miss the beach! I know summer is coming and we got something to look forward to soon! Watch out for it! ;)

Not too Late for this…

For Krispy Kreme’s Valentine donuts, that is!

We are usually late on sales such as the lcd monitor that Hubby was eyeing a couple of months ago (actually that one was on purpose). But when it comes to Krispy Kreme’s “occasional” treats, we make it sure we try it while it lasts.

I was happy that it was still available last Sunday because we decided to buy for the in-laws as a Valentine’s treat. They liked it.

While buying these half dozen of heart donuts, I got to try one free glazed donut! It was sweeeeeet! Definitely not recommended for diabetics. LOL!

Good Japanese Food at Sugi

I can say that I’m part of the family who never stops eating. LOL! When I’m with my family, I will have to forget about my diet. This is what happened during our family day at Sugi restaurant in Greenhills last Sunday.

You see, I love Japanese food, from maki to miso soup to beef teriyaki to kani salad. I just love everything!

Aside from a great company of my family, food was the next thing that I looked forward to. We actually ordered a whole range of food that we ended up really full (and happy of course!).

We had salmon sushi, california maki, garden salad (with crab sticks), beef sirloin teriyaki, chicken crispy, shrimp tempura, and fish fillet. The only unfortunate thing was that we didn’t have room for dessert anymore.

My father-in-law reserved two function rooms for the family and we were glad because the restaurant was actually jam packed. With this we had a little bit of privacy. We even had the opportunity to talked about some vessel sinks for the in-laws’ house. I wasn’t surprised that the place was full because not only the food was good but the ambiance was perfect for family days like this. Kids had a great time too!

If you want to eat great Japanese food, try SUGI, you will definitely love it!

Conti's Chocolate Mousse

IMG_5024 IMG_5026

We ordered Conti’s Chocolate Mousse last Saturday for our Valentine’s dinner at home. It was not too sweet but the taste was nothing special. I would rather order another cake for the next special occasion.

Have you tried it yourself? How did you find the chocolate mousse?

A Sumptious Breakfast at Portico

We didn’t have anything planned for Valentine’s day except this – to have breakfast at Portico in Serendra. Why breakfast? Well here are our reasons:

  • We didn’t want to join the bunch of people going out on that big day (traffic will be worst I’m sure)
  • We wanted to spend the day with our kids too
  • We wanted to try Portico for months now

Actually I read Anton of OurAwesomePlanet.com about his breakfast in Portico’s a couple of months ago. After that, I’ve been craving for it and been bugging Hubby that we try it one of these days. So, when we had an opportunity (and an occasion to celebrate which is the Vday), we jumped at the opportunity. A sleepless night didn’t stop us from going there.

We got to Serendra around 8:30AM. I was surprised to see some people jogging all over the place. I told Hubby that we should also jog there one of these days. I just hope we still have the energy and time to do that after being awaken by our 3 months old baby almost everyday.

Anyway, Portico opens for breakfast at 7AM until 10:30AM.

Hubby and I had a hard time choosing the meal that we are ordering. I think all the breakfast meals looked really good.

IMG_4982 2

I ordered the Filipino Breakfast served with 1 egg, garlic rice and a choice of: mini fresh juice, brewed coffee or hot chocolate.

I got this one…

Baguio Longganisang Durog with sunny side up and hot chocolate

It was really good. But honestly, I find it a bit pricey considering that the serving was not too big. I guess what I was thinking was that I can get this meal in any other restaurant in a cheaper price.

Hubby got this one…

Beef Sirloin Tapa with Brewed Coffee

This meal was more worth it than my longganiza. It was a bit sweet and the beef was really tender. The serving was a bit small though but all in all the food was tasty.

Here are more photos of the place.

I Like this Lamp of the Restaurant

The place was really cozy, I liked it a lot. The service was pretty good too. I would highly recommend this place on special occasions.
