Pixie's Boneless Bangus

If you want something healthy (especially during the Holy Week) I highly recommend Pixie’s Boneless Bangus.

Branches are all over Metro Manila now. I like how they made it with tomatoes, onions, ginger, and guess what? Rosemary! I like how it tastes like – not an ordinary bangus at all! The price is not that bad too.

Pixie’s Sinugba Started as an outdoor takeout outlet producing Inihaw na Boneless Bangus without the kaliskis. They also offer other Seafood products with a healthy concept, that is, without the MSG.

Here are more healthy food from their menu from Pixie’s website.

Looks yummy right!? For more information, check out, PixiesSinugba.com!

Such a Treat.

Boy, these sure looks heavenly!

I can’t imagine how sweet this would be! I haven’t tasted it but from the looks of it, this won’t be good for diabetics, I assume. I am one of those (almost) diabetic but I would want to try one at least. Because just looking at the photos makes my mouth water already! I don’t like that SUPER sweet desserts though (that’s why I still wonder up to now why my blood sugar went up), but Hubby does so maybe he can eat the half of my donut?

Here are the chocolate donut selections:

For more, visit ChocolateKarnival.com.

ETA: Hubby and I couldn’t help it. We gave in. We tried these donuts last night and boy, it was heavenly! I liked the one with vanilla kreme filled most. Yum!

SBC's Big Breakfast

Last Saturday we decided to wake up early and have our dose of the early morning breeze. But with preparations and the kids, Hubby and I ended up in High Street at around 8AM already. So, we tried to jog and ended up jogging for two rounds.

We got hungry afterwards so we decided to have breakfast at Seattle’s Best Coffee (SBC). We didn’t expect that the breakfast was huuuge (we ordered the big breakfast) and very good too.

Hubby ordered big breakfast 3 which includes: Egg, schublig, bacon strips, pancakes, wheat bread, fruit marmalade. He also ordered brewed coffee to cap off the meal.

Big Breakfast 3 (p230)

I ordered big breakfast 1 which includes: Egg, sauteed corned beef, pancakes, wheat bread, fruit marmalade. I had hot chocolate afterwards.

Big Breakfast 1 (p200)

We were so full afterwards that we thought that we should have jogged more with what we ate afterwards. But more than that, the breakfast at SBC was truly worth it!

The Spelling Bee

I got lucky last Saturday night because my friend gave out free tickets to the Spelling Bee play at RCBC. I loved it! I was laughing the whole time! Here are more details from StyleBible.ph.

The Tony Award winning Musical THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE opens March 20th and runs until April 4th at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, RCBC Plaza, Makati.

SPELLING BEE centers around a fictional spelling bee in Putnam County, New York. Six kids in the throes of puberty face off in the battle of their lives. They compete against each other as well as members of the audience. Three adults help adjudicate the proceedings: a nostalgic former spelling bee winner, a mildly insane Vice Principal and The Official Comfort Counselor completing his community service to the state of New York. SPELLING BEE has a Tony Award winning book by Rachel Sheinkin and Music and Lyrics by Tony Award winner William Finn.

No two SPELLING BEE shows will be alike, as SPELLING BEE will feature “starring roles” each night for two volunteer audience members and two surprise celebrity guest spellers.

Atlantis Productions gathers a stellar cast of theatre veterans Cathy Azanza-Dy, Pheona Baranda, Johann Dela Fuente, Rycharde Everley, Carla Guevarra-Laforteza, Noel Rayos, Felix Rivera, Thea Tadiar and Joel Trinidad, who have all worked with Atlantis in the past.

SPELLING BEE is directed by Bobby Garcia, Choreography by Chari Arespacochaga, Set Design by Tuxqs Rutaquio, Lighting Design by Johnsy Reyes, Costume Design by Twinkle Zamora, Vocal Coaching by ManMan Angsico and Musical Direction by Jojo Malferari.

For tickets call 892-7078 or 840-1187.

The celebrity guest last Saturday was Rachel Alejandro and Miss D. This is highly recommended. Watch it if you have time! (*wink*)

Now, I’m off to find some insurance quotes for my Mom.

Designer Sandwiches at Oliver's

* Photo grabbed from www.MyFoodTrip.com.

Last weekend since Hubby and I wanted a light dinner we decided to have sandwiches at Oliver’s in Trinoma. They have a series of designer sandwiches to choose from…

A. Roast Beef, Ham and Chunky Potato
B. Ham, Bacon, Pineapple Chunks & Egg Mayo
C. Turkey, Ham, Cinnamon, Apple and Cheese

We have tried all three but our most favorite is Designer Sandwich A. Although we also love the rest of the designer sandwiches because they are unique. I haven’t imagined the ingredients mixed all together in one sandwich, but it surprisingly turned out really good. Check out their menu grabbed from ClicktheCity.com.

Oliver’s Super Sandwiches is all over Metro Manila. For more info, visit their website at www.oliverssupersandwiches.com.

Goldilocks vs. Red Ribbon

Since it was our little girl’s birthday last week, we thought of getting a nice cake for her. I had two choices – Goldilocks and Red Ribbon.

I really liked the designs of goldilocks and they had the theme of Winnie the Pooh and friends so we decided to get it for our little girl’s birthday.

She had another party in Jollibee a weekend after her birthday. I’m glad that the cake included in the package was from Red Ribbon. So we had a taste of both.

Here is the cake from Goldilocks.

And the cake from Red Ribbon.

The verdict? (we both got mocha cakes)

The goldilocks cake looks better but red ribbon cake tastes yummier. The goldilocks cake was dry and the icing was too sweet. But I can say that they have more designs than red ribbon.

Red Ribbon’s mocha cake on the other hand was way better. The icing was not too sweet and smooth. The cake was moist. Just the way we like it.

The next time we are having a party, I will have to think twice what my priority will be – should it be the taste or how the cake looks? Hmmm…

Now I wonder if these two bakeshoppes are now available in Outer Banks because when I went to San Francisco, there was Goldilocks and Red Ribbon already.

Som's Noodle House's New Branch

After a long day of doing mommy duties, looking for some insurance rates for our baby girl, and work, Hubby asked me out for dinner. :D Of course I jumped at the opportunity to be able to spend time alone with him and at the same time go out of the house even for a short while.

We saw Som’s Noodle House’s new branch so we tried that. We ordered…

- Bagoong Rice
- Tom Yam Soup
- Thai Spring Rolls

It turned out that we ordered a lot. We weren’t able to finish the Thai spring rolls. We were happy with the food. I especially love the Tom Yam soup. I highly recommend it!

It was definitely the same Som’s Noodle House which used to be in Makati.

Hoping to eat there again one of these days.
