The in-laws’ invited us for lunch last Sunday to celebrate Father’s Day. It was at Peking Garden in Trinoma. It was not too hard to find considering that I don’t go there that much. I think I’ve been to Trinoma thrice only.
This is our first time to try Peking Garden. The place was packed! This made the place really noisy and crowded that it made us uncomfortable. I think maybe also because I was taking care of our baby girl, while Hubby is taking care of our little girl.
But I have no negative feedback about the food. It was sumptuous and I would go back there for the food! Good thing we had a table reserved and we saw this menu waiting for us.

When we read this, we felt excited because there were so many dishes to look forward too! Our meal started with Four kinds of Appetizer.

While we were having yummy jelly fish, century egg, white chicken, and beef, the shark’s fin soup with shredded chicken was served. At first I thought this was hot and sour soup because of the orangey color. I was expecting it to be spicy but good thing it was not. I loved it!
The next dish was the Peking Duck. I was amazed at how it was thinly sliced. You have to pair it with a wrap and a sauce. Since I love wraps, this is one of my favorite dish!

The next dish that they served was the Golden Prawns with Salted Egg which I can say was the best dish in this set meal! A bit salty for my taste and oily too. But that’s the reason why it was delicious. (*grin*) The prawns were fresh and was covered with something crispy that goes so well together.
Then Deep Fried Shredded Beef with Sesame Puff was served.

This one is really unique. You have to put the shredded beef into the sesame puffs to enjoy the dish. I love the concept. Quite tasty too.
More dishes came which include:
- Steamed Lapu Lapu Peking Style
This was just ok. The Lapu Lapu was fresh though which make it really tasty.
- Poached Mustard Green with Dried Scallop
I loved this. I was looking for round scallops and then I realized that the dried scallops where shredded which looked like noodles to me.
- Steamed Crabs with Minced Garlic & Black Pepper
I didn’t try this because I was too lazy and wasn’t in the mood to use my hands.
- Fried Hand-made Noodles with Shredded Pork
I was too full to even try this. But the little girl loved this so it must be very good.
- Chilled Mango Shake with Sago
Just the usual mango shake with sago. Nothing special.
All in all, I was happy with our lunch at Peking Garden. Although it would have been better if they served all the dishes all together or probably served it faster, we could have tried everything in the set meal. What happened actually was that we were too full with the appetizers that we weren’t able to really enjoy the main meal.
I understand that the restaurant was packed which made the service really slow. Maybe when there is no occasion, like Father’s day, they will do better than that.
If you like unique Chinese food, and not the usual beef-with-brocolli-and-three-kinds-of-mushroom-kind-of-Chinese-food, try Peking Garden!
