Boracay in July 2009: Seafoods Galore at D’Talipapa

Eating at D’ Talipapa was one of the highlights of our Boracay vacation. It was cheap considering that we ate kilos of lobster, crabs, and shrimps. And when I thought about it, I realized that we ate there all the nights in our stay! The rain didn’t stop us from going there. There floods all over too, but good thing there was a tricycle driver who were willing to bring us to the place. Nope, no need for rv towing, the flood was not that bad.

The concept here is that you buy seafoods at the market and then you bring to a restaurant who will cook and prepare the food for you. A few photos of the seafoods bought from the market.

We ordered rice and drinks from the restaurant. I can’t exactly remember how much the cooking fee was but I tell you, it was way cheaper than the restaurants in D’Mall or Station 2.

Look at me with that huuuuge lobster!

This is highly recommended especially for big groups. Seafoods were cheap and affordable. Definitely worth it!

Our Future House Plans

You know what, Hubby and I are talking about house plans again! I can’t believe that it’s been two years already since we did this. I remember the excitement and the stress but I can say that it was definitely good stress for us! We had fun thinking about our home plans. The design of our current house now is our ideas and we are proud of it. And now that we are thinking of moving again, I can’t wait to start designing. I hope this time we can opt to doing luxury dream home plans. Since before we had to check on our budget every now and then and prioritized other things, this time we can splurge on a few things like a nice shower head, a nice window and more. I really, really, can’t wait for that!

For the mean time, what I can do is read and research. I will check out HousePlansAndMore.com for tips and some ideas on what to do. I may be able to find the current rates too since what we have on our records are two years old now. Wish me luck folks!

Boracay in July 2009: Grilled Burgers at Bite Club

Hubby loves burgers so much that when we saw Bite Club in D’ Mall, Boracay, we immediately decided to have lunch there.

I ordered for Burgerella while Hubby ordered for The Bomb!

And of course potato wedges and fries on the side.

The burgers were huge but I was able to finish it. The patties were juicy but I couldn’t taste the mozzarella cheese. After the meal we were full but something’s lacking. We were looking for something more. And now I realized that we were probably looking for dessert!

The weather was getting hotter at this hour so we decided to go back to the hotel to take a nap.

Looking for a Life Insurance in Manila.

I’m currently looking for a life insurance. I was hoping I could find something like health insurance with a life insurance. It’s like hitting two birds in one stone. It’s like paying for one insurance that caters two. It sounds impossible but who knows I might be able to find one and even get an insurance quote from InsuranceQuotesUs.com. I just don’t know if these kind of packages exist here in the Philippines. I better look it up and see what I can find.

Boracay in July 2009: Our Extraordinary Breakfast in Real Coffee and Tea Cafe

Well, I said extraordinary because I have never tasted an omelette with a pesto sauce ever!

The Great White Omelette (php230)

It was sooo good I almost asked for the recipe. LOL! The photo above is the Great White Omelette. It has three eggwhites with onions, tomatoes and cheese. Then we added php30 for pesto. It was heavenly. I could eat that omelette for days!

I also ordered American Style Pancake.

American Style Pancake (php100)

Which for me was just so so. Too bad they didn’t have much options on their menu except for toasted bread, pancakes, and eggs. We were looking for sausages, ham, and more but didn’t have that in their menu. The owner is probably a health buff, I assume.

Here are more photos of the cafe.

It was not hard to find it. Located in Station 1, not very far from Station 2. I planned to go back there but we didn’t have time anymore. I was planning on trying their calamansi cake. Too bad.

I noticed that in Boracay, cash runs out fast. The prices were not expensive but when you see those lovely dresses and bathing suits you just want to shop and shop. And when you see those seafoods and steak restaurants you would want to try them all! When we go back to Boracay next year with the kids, I will have to get some payday loans so that I can shop all I want, try all the restaurants that look good, and enjoy our stay as long as we want.

Now, that sounds a real vacation to me!

Boracay in July 2009: Having Pizza and More in Aria

Yes, I’m still in “Bora fever” even if it’s been a month since we were there.

One of the unforgettable meals we had there was the pizza and mozzarella sticks in Aria.

2361537510095243712HhzVjk_fs

2162337690095243712FNUjcO_fs

Despite the very strong winds and the rain, we still managed to go and have our snacks in Aria. It was delicious as expected. It was our second time there actually and we still loved the food. The nice thing about this resto is that it’s in the middle of Station 2. A really good location.

The only thing shocking is that the price. For pizza and mozzarella sticks we had to pay around PHP700 ++. The ambiance is nice yes, but for that price for snacks? I don’t think it’s worth it. I mean there were other options that were cheaper especially around D’ Mall and I have to say tastes good too!

Because of the expensive snacks on our first day in Bora, I wanted to have a cash advance right at that moment. I realized that with that amount, we could have had two main meals already. These days cash advances are readily available for these type of occasions. How I wish I was able to apply before our trip because I read that it is very easy to apply. Oh well, definitely next time!

As for our Aria food, it was good but was definitely not part of the plan!

Boracay in July 2009: Steak and Rice at Big Mouth

2478967990095243712wjSlqC_fs

You can easily see Big Mouth because it is located right in the middle of D’ Mall. This restaurant is huge and there are a lot of options to choose from. From sizzling steak to sizzling seafoods. They also have the biggest halo-halo I have ever seen!

Both of us ordered steak and rice.

2522440230095243712GOPfIc_fs

2522440230095243712GOPfIc_fs

The steak was just ok. But since we were too hungry, we finished all of it. It was cheap too considering that it was steak we only had to pay around PHP500 for two steaks. This place was just ok, we didn’t go back here though since there were so many other restaurants that were better.
