Happy Halloween!

TrickOrTreat Tag

Happy Halloween!

We, as a family had FIVE Halloween parties since the 24th of October this year. Our little girls had so much fun trick or treating! This is so far our most number of trick or treats. We had so many buckets of candies now. I don’t know what to do with it actually. If we eat it ourselves, I’m pretty sure we will be needing natural fat burner since sweets are the major reasons of weight gain.

Here is the list of Halloween parties that we went to this year.

1. Village Clubhouse
2. School Halloween Party
3. My sister’s Office Halloween Party
4. Halloween Party at friends’ house
5. Trick or Treating at The Podium

So far, the most fun party we went to was the school halloween party where there was a circus act show. The most number of candies we got was from my sister’s office and the most fun party was at our friends’ where the food was good and the company was even better!

Red Ribbon’s Tiramisu

Last month, I asked my Mom to buy me a Red Ribbon Tiramisu Cake for my birthday.

Tiramisu – A heavenly three-layer cake of choco chiffon and cream cheese filling, dappled with a hint of coffee liquor. (PHP 560)

I was surprised at how expensive red ribbon cakes are now. I cannot afford it anymore so I asked my Mom to buy it for me. LOL! Gone are the days where you can buy 1 whole cake for PHP 300. For that amount, you can only buy a “junior cake”.

But this one is worth it though. What I like about this cake is the hint of coffee liquor and the cream cheese filling that makes it really soft and yummy. It doesn’t taste too sweet too so I can finish a slice or two!

Mmmm…just by thinking about it makes me want to go to the nearest Red Ribbon and buy one whole cake!

Try it! You won’t regret it. (*wink*)

A Stormy All-Saints’ Day Weekend?

It is all over the news. We will be having a stormy all-saint’s day weekend! Check out a few tidbits from Abs-CBNNews.com

In its 5 a.m. weather advisory, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported said the storm’s center was 580 kilometers east northeast of Infanta, Quezon, packing maximum sustained winds of 150 kilometers per hour near the center, and carries wind gusts of up to 185 kph.

PAGASA said the storm was moving in a west southwest direction at a speed of 22 kph.

Public storm warning signals have been raised over several provinces in central, northern and eastern Luzon in anticipation of the typhoon’s landfall, which the bureau said might happen within 24 hours.

Public storm warning signal number 3 has been raised over Polillo Islands in Quezon province while signal number 2 was raised over Aurora, Quirino, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Tarlac, Zambales, Pampanga, Bataan, Rizal, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Lubang Island, Quezon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, and Metro Manila.

Residents in these areas are expected to experience winds between 60-100 kph (for signal number 2) and 100-185 kph (for areas under signal number 3), and are forecast to have stormy weather with rough to very rough seas.

Classes in all levels are suspended in areas under signal number 3. Meanwhile, classes in preschool, elementary, and secondary levels in areas under signal number 2 are suspended.

PAGASA advised residents in low-lying areas and near mountain slopes under signals #3, #2 and #1 to take all the necessary precautionary measures against flashfloods, landslides and storm surges.

But when I opened the curtains now I can see the sun shining! Are we over-reacting already after the tragic typhoon Ondoy? Well, better take all the necessary precautionary measures than be SORRY right?

Take Care everyone!

SOON!

suriya

I’m going to be here really, really SOON! I got a gift certificate from my BIL for my birthday last September and I really can’t wait to use it. I haven’t been to a SPA ever since our Bali trip. I miss having a massage. My back has been aching for weeks! I’ve been going to the The SPA for the last couple of years so this will be my first time in Suriya. I haven’t read the reviews of this place though but the one in Frontera Verde in Tiendesitas seems fine. They also have a steam/dry sauna and a jacuzzi. Oh I can’t wait! A few more days and I’ll be hopefully in relax mode.

But for now, I need to finish my tasks at work and look for the the Honeywell Barcode Scanner. They said that it is a pretty good scanner. Since we want to backup our photos (including the one in our photo albums), we decided to purchase a scanner. I really hope I find the best though since there are just tons of scanners there that don’t seem to be of good quality.

Banana Monkey Cream Pie Cupcake

Aaaah, I can still taste the sweet banana, the caramel and the pecans of the Banana Monkey Cream Pie Cupcake of Sonja’s Cupcakes. I bought it a couple of weeks ago and I can’t get over how great it was. I wasn’t planning of eating the whole cupcake but when I started to eat, I can’t get enough of it until I finished it all!

It was too sweet though for my taste buds (I’m not really a dessert person and I prefer sugarfree desserts). While eating it I was imagining the weight I would gain that I was already thinking of what type of fat burners I would be drinking after wards.

But the combination of pecans, bananas, and cream in a cookie crust filled was just heavenly! I love nuts so much and I was surprised to find pecans in this cupcake. Here’s the description of this cupcake from their menu…

I wasn’t able to take a photo of the cupcake anymore. As I’ve said, I’ve finished the whole thing in a few minutes! LOL! But hopefully when I get these cupcakes again (hopefully very, very soon) I will try to take photos and share it here.

Definitely highly recommended!

Horseback Riding

img_1430

When I was a kid, I would ask my Mom to let me go horseback riding. Of course she won’t allow me to do it on my own since I was too small so I had never experienced it by myself. Not until my little girl’s second birthday! Since it was a safari/jungle themed party, we hired two horses for the guests to ride while the party hasn’t started yet. The horses looked healthy. They seemed to be well-fed and seems to be eating horse supplements too. I’m glad that the kids had so much fun horseback riding before the party started. Well, I didn’t have a chance to ride again since I was too busy preparing but I promised myself that I will do that when I visit our province again.

What Kind of Adventure Do You Crave?

I got bored this morning so I took this test.

You Crave a Physical Adventure

Life has gotten a bit unchallenging lately, and you really would like to push yourself to the limit.
You want an adventure that gets your blood pumping. You want to test yourself and see if you have what it takes.

Whether you’re climbing a tall mountain or sky diving, you won’t feel like you’ve had an adventure unless you’ve accomplished something big.
You love the confidence you get from taking risks… as well as the bragging rights!

This is so true! I need an adventure in my life!

Corporate Reimbursement Services

I never heard of such a company until I came across CRS. This company offers vehicle reimbursement programs for companies with mobile employees. It’s like they provide you with a car allowance. They have a particular program that is pretty interesting. It’s called the Fleet program. I read that maintaining a fleet program is time consuming. You need a lot of time and effort to do this. So it would be best to delegate these kind of tasks to another company like CRS.

I have read in their website that CRS programs usually calculates reimbursement rate for each individual driver. Since individual drivers have different costs for owning and operating their personal vehicle, it would CRS’ job to help the company calculate the rates. Usually it would depend on where they live and how many business miles they drive using the vehicle. If a company is focused on their products and services already, they couldn’t allot a person, a group of person, or even a department to do this kind of task. So it would be easier if they hire companies like CRS. They will definitely do the job. I guess they can save up time and money since they won’t be paying someone anymore to do this. CRS’ website is very useful and if you want to know more try to request some details through “Request Information” at the top part of the site.
