Estrel’s Caramel Cake is still my Fave

After all these years, I would still crave for Estrel’s caramel cake, that’s why this is what we ordered during my daughter’s 5th birthday.

It’s still the same in my opinion. The cake was not too sweet but tasty and really, really soft. Now, I’m craving for at least a slice! Ooomph!

Our Food Trip at Teriyaki Boy

Everytime I’m stressed out my favorite thing to do is to shop and EAT. So one day, when Hubby and I needed a break from everything, we went to Teriyaki Boy for dinner.

IMG_0678

And everytime we are in Teriyaki Boy I would always order the same. (*grin*)

IMG_0679

I would never go wrong with Teriyaki Boy’s Kani Salad. I always loved it and good thing, the taste is still the same after all these years.

IMG_0680

Along with the kani salad, my all time favorite as well is the Chicken Teriyaki. It was grilled perfectly and topped with a teriyaki sauce that was not too sweet. I love, love it!

IMG_0681

The asparagus wrapped in fried bacon is new to us. I don’t remember ordering this dish before but one thing for sure, we will be adding this to one of our favorites!

Filipino and Asian Cuisine at Amadeo Restaurant

I wouldn’t say it has been a tradition to have lunch or dinner at Amadeo Restaurant, since it just recently opened (probably a few years ago). But all I can say is that every time I’m home, I would always make sure that we dine here.

IMG_0516

It has become a favorite of mine. With all the choices from Filipino and Asian cuisine to steaks, salads, pasta and more. Every meal at Amadeo is always sumptuous. I highly recommend this restaurant. If you are in Malaybalay City, this is the capital of Bukidnon, make sure that you have a meal or two (or even more) at Amadeo Restaurant.

Our Trip to Cagayan de Oro/Malaybalay last June

Our most recent family getaway was last June when we went to Cagayan de Oro (CDO) / Malaybalay City.

IMG_0344

We went home to my hometown to attend my cousin’s wedding which is also a grand reunion of my relatives from my Dad side. We made sure that it won’t be a boring trip by enlisting in the advance course of white water rafting on our first day! It was indeed an adventure! Unfortunately we weren’t able to take photos for souvenirs but a short video of us was taken (check it out here).

After our great adventure, we immediately went to our favorite JT’s Manukan to have lunch and then shop at the MNG outlet. After that, we travelled again for another hour and 15minutes to go straight to Malaybalay City. Yummy dinner was prepared by my Aunt.

The next day we just relaxed for the day to prepare for the wedding the next day.

It was a relaxing and fun vacation with Hubby and the kids. All of us had so much fun and we hope we could schedule again a trip there soon.

Thinking of Snowboarding Soon?

I’m thinking of doing something exciting these days since I’ve been so stressed out with a lot of things. I just surfed the internet and came across snowboarding and skiing. It looks very interesting. Something that I won’t be able to do here in Manila. So if ever I have the opportunity to do it in other countries, I would say, I would definitely go for it! I have to have complete gears though such as ski snowboard goggles, the right suit and good quality snow boards. These are the essential things that I need to have first, in my opinion. And then next would be the lessons. I’ve heard that some countries offer snowboarding lessons for just a few hours. This sounds really great! I would definitely try it one of these days. (*wink*)

Starbucks says NO Smoking starting June 27, 2011!

This is very surprising considering that I see a lot of people who come to starbucks to smoke and drink coffee.

Starbucks No Smoking

It is a big move indeed. Why are they doing this? In compliance with the new Smoking Ordinance Section 5 of Republic Act 9211 wherein smoking won’t be allowed in the following areas:

- Centers of youth activity such as playschools, preparatory schools, elementary schools, high schools, colleges and universities, youth hostels, and recreational facilities for persons under eighteen (18) years old;

- Elevator and stairwells;

- Location in which fire hazards are present, including gas stations and storage areas for flammable liquids, gas, explosives or combustible materials;

- Within the buildings and premises of public and private hospitals. Medical, dental, and optical clinics, health centers, nursing homes, dispensaries and laboratories;

- Public conveyance and public facilities including airport and ship terminals and train and bus stations, restaurant and conference halls, except for separate smoking areas; and

- Food preparation areas

I LOVE this new rule of Starbucks. Looks like I’m going to visit them often now compared to before. Kudos to Starbucks!
