2012 Trip to Pangasinan: Our Quick Breakfast at Pancake House

Before we arrived Bolinao, we stopped over Hacienda Luisita in Tarlac first to have a quick breakfast at Pancake House.

As always, Hubby ordered his all time favorite – Beef Tapa.

I, on the other hand, couldn’t remember exactly what I had for breakfast. I’m not sure if I had pancakes or I also had beef tapa. Hmmm.. Oh well, blame the epidural for that! LOL!

After our quick (and yummy) breakfast at Pancake House, off we went to the road again for Bolinao.

2012 Trip to Pangasinan: Our 6-Hour Road Trip to Bolinao

I read a lot of blogs about the road trip to Bolinao a few days before our trip so I knew that it’s going to be a LONG drive! I made sure that we start early to make the most out of our weekend.

We started our trip around 5AM and I’m glad we did because it felt refreshing to travel without the heavy traffic in the metro. It was also nice to travel while the air was still fresh and there weren’t so many cars on the road with us.

We were stuck on traffic while we were in Tarlac but it was manageable. We also saw a couple of nice churches on the road.

If we had a lot of time in our hands we would have visited all of the churches. Maybe next time we’ll do that.

After almost 6 hours, we finally arrived Pangasinan.

How to get to Pangasinan?

If you will travel by car, you can take the SCTEX (Subic, Clack, Tarlac, Expressway) route. As you pass by Alaminos and Bani Pangasinan, the road to Bolinao starts to ascend through a zigzag road which will give you a scenic view of mountainous landscapes.

If you are traveling by bus, just go to a Victory or 5 Star bus terminal nearest you. You could call their office for the definite time of departure because there are limited time schedules of buses that goes straight to Bolinao. Still if you dont catch that, you could take the bus that goes to Alaminos and from there get on another bus or jeep. It takes 30-40 mins of travel time from Alaminos to Bolinao.

Guess what we did on our last day in Phuket? Of course, we made the most out of the beach!

It was a perfect way to make the most out of our last day in Phuket. We haven’t left Phuket yet, but we were already missing our laid back vacation. Hopefully when the time (and budget) permits, we would be able to go back to Phuket in the next few years.

Protecting your Stuff when Traveling

Usually when we travel, we tend to leave important stuff behind. So our stuff will be left behind at home, usually unattended. It’s ok if we’re only gone for a few days, but what if we are out for weeks and even months? We would want our stuff at home to be protected by water, rust or anything!

This is also the same for our businesses. We will never what the nature will bring while we were out traveling so we want it to be protected. I found a protection for vci paper at Reid Supply which is perfect for businesses handling papers. It protects papers agains rust and water. It’s amazing how the technology has improved nowadays making our lives easy and fun!

Let’s protect our stuff and make sure that they are still the same when we come back from our much deserved vacation!

SG/Phuket 2011 Trip: Overflowing Food at The Golden Kinnaree Restaurant

After the Phuket FantaSea Show, we decided to avail the dinner buffet at The Golden Kinnaree Restaurant. We were too hungry to look for other restaurants!

IMG_3239

So as soon as we were inside, we immediately went in line for the dinner buffet. So that explains why we didn’t have photos of the food and the buffet. Except this…

IMG_6157

Our photo of course! We were too hungry to mind especially the kids. The food was ok but a lot of viands in the buffet were spicy so the kids didn’t really enjoy it that much. Even their fried chicken has a certain spice that the kids couldn’t eat.

After dinner, this is the only moment when we realized that the restaurant was so huge and beautiful. Good thing we were the last ones to leave, at least we were able to take photos of the place.

The Golden Kinnaree Buffet Restaurant is Asia’s biggest restaurant, covering an area of over 5,000 sqm with the capacity to accommodate over 4,000 seated guests. It was inspired by 7 half-bird half-angels called the Kinnarees, whose story is depicted in the “Fantasy of a Kingdom” show. Guests from all over the world are invited to a Royal feast prepared and served by these mystical creatures, set against a background of the legendary Himmaphan Forest, where the Kinnarees are known to reside.

I would say we made the right decision in availing the buffet dinner! The experience was wonderful and I highly recommend it.

Looking for Anniversary Rings?

I’ve been meaning to look for anniversary rings but I just didn’t have the time to go even to the nearest mall. That’s why I felt giddy when I saw a couple of classy and elegant rings online.

anniv_ring

This is a 1 Carat 18kt White Gold Ideal Round Brilliant Eternity Cut Five Stone Diamond Anniversary Ring. But for $2,750, whoa! I wouldn’t be able to afford it. I need to buy one for Hubby too, after all, this is an anniversary ring.

For now, I will have to forget it but will definitely include in my list of things to buy in the “future”. In short, I will have to wait. In the right time, I’m sure it will be possible.

SG/Phuket 2011 Trip: The Phuket FantaSea Show

The Phuket FantaSea Show was intended for the kids but we were surprised that the adults also loved the show!

IMG_6223

Phuket FantaSea is the island’s biggest show. With trapeze artists, a cast of hundreds, performing elephants and other animals and an exotic storyline that blends tradition with fantasy you’ll have a wonderful evening out here. But the extravaganza doesn’t stop there as FantaSea also hosts one of the biggest buffets in Asia and is set in a theme park that offers carnival-like games, lots of shopping opportunities, a Palace of the Elephants, a Similan Adventure Centre several other food oulets. It’s spectacular, it’s extravagent, it’s impressive and great entertainment value for all.

The price of the show was on a bit of the high side but we were thinking of a once in a lifetime opportunity and we wanted to make the most out of our stay in Phuket. So on our last night, we watched the amazing Phuket FantaSea Show.

There were problems with the tickets we purchased. The agency where we booked our ticket specifically told us that it was a 9PM show but they actually booked us on the 7PM show, good thing we were early!

We were required to surrender our camera and cellphones since taking of photos inside the show was not allowed.

The show lasted only for a couple of minutes but I saw the joy that it has brought the kids. Who wouldn’t love a dancing elephant anyway!?

As soon as the show was finished, we took a couple of photos of the themepark. Everywhere was so pretty to look at!

Happy Ever After Gifts

Have you heard of the saying, “Love is lovelier the second time around.”? Well, that could be true but weddings are always worth celebrating whether it’s a first or a second or a third marriage.

I saw a couple of nice wedding gifts for a second marriage that are worth checking out at Red Envelope.

frame-redEnvelope

The nice thing about second marriages is that both persons tried to take a risk of marriage again. I guess that was what made it really special. So, it would be nice to give out special gifts too! Try Red Envelope, you wouldn’t regret it! (*wink*)

SG/Phuket 2011 Trip: Our Spicy Thai Lunch in Kata Beach

The best thing about our lunch in Kata was that we had it near the beach. We just bought fried rice and pad thai from the street vendor and then we’re set!

IMG_3193

I was amazed at how this guy cooked our lunch in 2 minutes!

IMG_3195

IMG_3197

Although I specifically requested for the food to be NOT spicy, I guess that won’t be possible if you’re in Thailand! So here’s our fried rice…

IMG_3198

It sure was very tasty! And with a view of the beach…

IMG_3191

It definitely was the perfect lunch for all of us! ♥♥♥
