Supplier Rating: Cupcakes by Piece of Cake
I wanted something different for Andie’s birthday. Even if cupcakes are common nowadays, I still opted to get these because I wanted guests to bring home some part of the cake. I don’t want to end up eating the whole cake after the party!
I had a lot of options but I didn’t know which one is reliable and which cupcakes taste good. My first choice of cupcake supplier was fully booked already for the month of November. When I tried to do a bit of research, I ended up with Yumi Castrillo of Piece of Cake. When I saw her cupcakes through her Flickr account, I fell in love with the designs immediately. Good thing she was still available for Andie’s birthday. Check out what she made for Andie.

Everything was settled with Yumi online. We just talked through emails. I deposited payment through her BPI account and then she sent the receipt by email too. It was hassle-free especially for me who can’t go out of the house that much. The contract pretty much states everything like the theme, flavors, the details of the party of course, and the agreement between two parties. The top cake looks really nice. But I didn’t like the colors of the cupcakes that much. It was too dull. I was expecting more colors since it was a ladybug/sunflower theme after all!

I like the top cake so much!
Brown and cream were the only colors of the cupcakes. Is it because of the flavors I chose? I’m not sure, really. I was thinking maybe it was a bit of my fault too since I didn’t get to tell her what colors I exactly want. And honestly, I completely forgot to
remind her about it too.
The ladybug and sunflower printouts were a bit dull too. Check out one brown cupcake.

Brown and Creame Cupcakes were the Highlight of the Cake Setup which I didn’t like so much.
We gave out the cupcakes to the kids, so I wasn’t able to taste any of it. Except for the top cake which we brought home after the party. I chose cappuccino flavor for the top cake. I find it good but it is not recommended for kids. The cappuccino tastes very strong that kids might not like the flavor.
The good side about Yumi is that she is easy to talk to considering we didn’t even meet to talk about the setup. If I instructed her the colors I wanted, I’m sure she was able to deliver it.
